Summer Intensive: Living in Improvised Environments
Description
Close your eyes and imagine a crowded, outdoor festival. What are you feeling. Are people bumping into you? What is the temperature? What do you hear? What are you walking on? Now, how do you convincingly present that to an audience as you stand in front of them in the center of a 10ft by 12ft empty stage? This two-class intensive will cover the essentials (and extra crinkly bits) of improvising environments. There are no sets, props, or any of the traditional stage production dressing and improvisers just behave as if such things exist…but how? This class is for you if you want to learn how to manifest the near infinite number of possibilities of “Place” in a very empty room.
